Hey everyone. I’m back!
So as everyone who knows me knows I draw a lot from films. Music and reading for my day to day life.
Recently I have been reading a romance book I found online and realized I was learning history and getting life lessons from it as well one being,
“Rule one of holes. When you’re in one. Stop digging”
Which then got me thinking. What other advice have I gotten from unexpected places.

One that came back to me and I use regularly in this crazy industry of Hair all the time.
I remember being 12 in 1993 and seeing this new movie by Steven Spielberg “Jurassic Park” and well what young kid wasn’t into dinosaurs? So I’m watching it and there’s a part where they are all eating and talking about the park and Jeff Goldblum’s character says
“yeah but John your scientist where so preoccupied with rather or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should”
And even at 12 the power of what he’d said hit home.
Now as a stylist back behind the chair for a few months shy of a decade I use that advice all the time..
CAN I give you a drastic change in one sitting. yes.
but SHOULD I in one sitting?
I’m sure I have lost clients because I refuse to do something because my 12 year old self in my head is saying “remember what Doctor Malcolm says” and well. I don’t want to let the dinosaurs out.. or worse, damage your hair because I forgot the Goldblum rule.
“Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”
